Tackle The Chaos

2021-10-28

Okay, admit it. How many of you are prone to the organized chaos, or worse yet the disorganized chaos? Something, that for some reason, has been such taboo. Keep your house showroom ready, while raising kids, cooking, prepping, planning and working.

If you're anything like me, some days you just throw in the towel and hope for the best the next day. Or perhaps you got sick, and let a lot of your good habits and chores slide. Other days you get this magical burst of energy and end your cleaning spree satisfied (but tired)... Only to have someone (or several someones) destroy your hours of effort in a matter of minutes. Which, face it. That can be discouraging at best.

I've met a couple minimalists in the last few years. It's something that I have considered - maybe not to the extent where there is just nothing, but at least a good downsizing (or 2) would be greatly beneficial. It means less time for clean up and more time for my kids (and even mommy time :) ).

It's bad enough that there is just endless fur flying around my floors from the pets, and the dust accumulation from living right off a busy road... I don't need to be tripping over or bumping into things. I have already donated a decent load of stuff, and yet I'm left with... Still more stuff. Yeesh. How did I accumulate so much? Projects left unfinished because they just weren't for me. Things given to me with good intentions behind gifting them to me, that really just collect dust (or fur). Even indoor plants that were given to me that *fingers crossed* don't die a horrific death-by-cat-or-forgotten-once-again.

Clothes I had hopes of fitting into? Get out of here. Clothing that is too big? Be gone! Toys gone unplayed with in a good few months? Good bye. DVDs that have been replaced by the multitudes of online streaming we much prefer? Au Revoir!

I've got over a year to be ready for baby, and I intend to enjoy my mat leave with my two sweet kids. Let's get at it!
